DEFINITION

Gin Rummy is an undying card game that requires skill and strategy. Organize your hand into groups (cards of the same rank) and runs (sequential cards of the same suit) while minimizing "deadwood" - cards that do not belong to any group or run. The game concludes when a player achieves the target score, usually 100 points, intensifying the competition to outwit your opponent and secure victory.


GUIDELINES

  1. Objective: Exhaustively reduce the amount of "deadwood" in your hand by forming groups and runs.
  • Groups: Collections of cards that have the same rank (e.g., three 7s).
  • Runs: Consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 4, 5, 6 of Hearts).
  1. Scoring:
  • The remaining deadwood points of your opponent are added to your score.
  • Knock or "go gin" (no deadwood remaining) to maximize points.
  1. Winning:
  • The initial player to reach or exceed 100 points emerges as the victor.
  • Ensure that your opponent does not reach 100 points before you!
